This fine learning establishment located at 801 Hoover Park Drive is by far one of the most coveted high schools in near Stouffville. The institution which is part of is governed by the YRDSB and offers enrollment opportunities from 9th grade all the way to the 12th grade.
SDSS, the only high school within the Whitchurch–Stouffville, dates back to mid-1950 when it first opened its doors to learners. Though major additional structures were erected within the next decade to accommodate the ever-rising number of students, the school could not keep up with the population and had to relocate to the current position on Hoover Park Drive toward the end of 2007. The new facility came with major infrastructural upgrades and facilities like a double gymnasium that were only a dream in the previous location. Apart from its environmentally sustainable design, Stouffville District Secondary boast of its many other unique features that made it a gold-certified eco-school. These include a state-of-the-art control system that is used to control the ventilation requirements as well as modern carpeting, classic roofing, paint, and highly recommended electrical equipment.
Apart from being one of the most contemporary schools in the entire York region, the school has a great record of performances both in academics and extracurricular activities for both girls and boys. The school is particularly known for the ruthless Stouffville Spartans athletic team which has been crowned YRAA champions several times in the recent past. Other past sports honors include over five OFSAA gold medalist awards for hockey and Rugby.
