Whitby, ON is a beautiful town with a beautiful cultural heritage. The town serves as the center and home to administrative offices of the Durham region, one of the subsections of the Greater Toronto Area. Whitby town rose from being a simple agricultural village into one of the most advanced towns in southern Ontario thanks to its political and infrastructural edge. The town boasts of being home to some very interesting annual events that attract participants from the entire Durham Region. Whitby Ribfest

This one of the most celebrated annual events in Whitby and one of the only few events sponsored by the town. This three-day event features a wide selection of family-friendly activities, foods, drinks, and fun competitions. Some of the things you can expect include tasty award-winning ribs and a variety of other tasty food options, exceptional entertainment, fun games and rides for everyone, craft beer and other drinks, fun rib eating contest, kidfest featuring unforgettable fun activities for the little ones, art show, and more. The event gives some of its proceeds to local charitable organizations and definitely one of the best annual events in town.

Food Truck Frenzy

Just like Whitby Ribfest, Food Truck Frenzy is another annual event in Whitby that is all about eating tasty foods and having fun. This event which is partly sponsored by the local rotary club features all renowned street food vendors from within the town and beyond as well as skilled food artisans and performers for entertainment. This weekend-long carnival is perfect for families and foodies as you will get a taste of the best food options ranging from beavertails and barbeques all the way to pork and poutine. There is something for everyone in the food and entertainment section and the entry fee is downright affordable considering the event is meant to raise funds for charitable organizations within the town.

Culture in the Square

Last on the list is Culture in the Square, a huge event that runs from early July to late August every year. This event features many activities and performances aimed at celebrating the local cultures and boosting cultural integration in a fun way. There is live music & performances, cultural performances, art, Carnivals, fun activities for kids and more.
