Summerlicious and Winterlicious

Summerlicious and Winterlicious is a two-phased or bi-annual event that takes place during the months of July and February. During these events, top local restaurants participate by offering food at a discounted price. The cost of food in some restaurants is usually less than half of what they charge on a normal day. The event is organized by the local authorities and only a few select restaurants are allowed to participate. It was started back in 2003 where a total of 35 restaurants participated.

Canadian Music Week

If you are an avid music fan, North York’s Canadian Music Week will keep you on your toes. The features all kinds of music genres and has been part of the community from 1981. Since its inception, the event has grown in popularity to the point that it has been ranked as the most influential media and music conference on the national stage. The Canadian Music Week brings together musicians from different places, both national and international, to showcase their talents. There are also food trucks selling their best foods and a kid’s fun zone.

Saint Patrick’s Day

Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated 17th March every year in remembrance of St. Patrick and his role in the growth of Christianity in the homeland. The day is marked as a public holiday and is cerebrate even in other cities countries.

Terry Fox Run

This is a charity event where people from across the nation come together to participate in a non-competitive race aimed at creating cancer awareness. The event is done in honor of a cancer activist Terry Fox and is aimed to generate more money for the cancer research center. The event was first held by Isadore Sharp in 1981 and have been taking place every second Sunday after Labor Day ever since.
